solar system project

supplies:
 
1bag of foam balls [ my mom got them at the dollar store] it should hold 3 small balls 3 medium 2 large
2 big foam blocks [ dollar store]
paint. grey, yellow, white [stars/tint], green, red, brown, orange, black[diorama] pink if you want to                 include pluto.[you can find out what color Eris and Ceres are and find balls]
box for diorama hanger or large card board circle for mobile
1orange and 2 black card stock1 yellow or 1white card stock
 Microsoft word document
 black yarn
 sharp knife
 tape
 skewer
 scissors
 2 or 3 paper towels
 adult supervision
 pencil
 makeup sponge
 glue
 paintbrushes
instructions
 Cut the 2 cubes to a ball [they don't have to be perfect]. Now cut down 2 medium balls a little bit. Use
 the sharp knife.  Paint the planets according to color Mercury=grey Venus=yellow Earth=blue with green spots Mars=red Jupiter=red orange and white stripes Saturn=yellowish brown Uranus=a tint of blue Neptune=navy blue. cut out a yellow or white ring just big enough to fit around Saturn from card stock [you can include Uranus's rings.]Take the box and glue 2 black card stock pages to the back. use the makeup sponge to cover the 2 sides and top and bottom w/ black paint.  Glue the sun yellow or orange cardstock to the left side of the box.  Poke holes in the top 9 to include pluto.  If you want a constellation take the pencil dip it in white paint and make a constellation in the back.  Now type the name of the planets on Microsoft word. Glue them to the planets when they are strung. Don't forget add you're creavity its art time!!!!!
